Almost 50% of condos sold in six months at active lifestyles seniors’ community in Canmore
July 23, 2013, Canmore AB – Canmore developer, Spring Creek, announced today that it sold $10 million in condos at its new Origin at Spring Creek active living seniors’ residence in the last six months as 22 of the project’s 56 suites have been bought since the sales centre opened earlier this year.
“We broke ground April 15th and we’ve seen remarkable sales with almost 50% of the suites already sold,” says Frank Kernick, president, Spring Creek, “The community is excited about the project as there’s really no other high-end development like Origin at Spring Creek. It’s designed for active seniors who’d like to remain in the Bow Valley region.”
Origin at Spring Creek offers one or two bedroom suites with a mix of independent living condominiums with assisted support and also rental suites. Managed by Origin Active Lifestyle Communities, there’s a focus on helping residents age comfortably while they remain active, social and involved with their community. Construction at Spring Creek remains on schedule with full completion expected in early 2015.
Neil Prashad, president, Origin Active Lifestyle Communities, explains, “Baby boomers and their parents have come to expect a higher level of amenities, service and activities. Spring Creek provides an elegant living experience and has a world-class location.”
Situated in the Canadian Rockies, residents of Spring Creek are within easy walking distance of Canmore’s eclectic and vibrant main street. With access to boutique shops, cafes and restaurants, as well as outdoor recreational activities like fishing, golfing, and hiking, Spring Creek is proving popular with buyers. Suites include open layouts and there is a large diversity of amenities including a yoga studio and full length aqua-size pool, a salon and spa, an art studio, a music room, and a British-style local pub on site.
Before Origin at Spring Creek, Bow Valley seniors had to look outside their community to find an upscale, retirement experience and for many, the idea of leaving the Bow Valley is an unpleasant thought.
Kernick says, “Why should people who have lived their whole lives here have to move away because it’s time to downsize? Clearly there is a demand for active living residences so that seniors can enjoy their retirement in the all-inclusive mountain environment they’ve always known and loved. A number of Calgarians have purchased units with us at Spring Creek and we expect this trend will continue. Retiring to the Rockies truly is a dream come true.”
