Billed as Inglewood’s only luxury condominium building, AVLI on Atlantic is nearing the completion of construction with 75 percent of its units sold.
The seven-storey, 65-unit project is located on the lot where the Carstar Autobody shop stood on 9th Ave. S.E., and was the vision of Chris and Penny Stathonikos, who owned Carstar.
“Inglewood was established in Calgary more than 100 years ago and my hope is that AVLI will stand in the neighbourhood for another 100 years,” says Penny.
The Stathonikos imagined a cutting-edge design for the $36-million project, connecting with Inglewood’s extensive art scene and to become a unique piece of local art itself, encouraging expression and appreciation from its residents and onlookers.
Prices range from $350,000 to $1.5 million, with the majority of the floor plans custom-designed for each home, ranging in size from 545 sq. ft. to 2,200 sq. ft.
The development, scheduled to open this fall, offers a unique mix of one- and two-bedroom units (plus den) and offers four live/work homes and seven penthouse suites, says Brian Kernick, president of Greenview Developments.
“The larger units have proven to be the most popular, so far,” says Kernick. “We have even reworked unit sizes to accommodate some of our residents needs for more condo space.”
Avli features modern hand-crafted interiors and life-improving amenities such as a large outdoor terrace with a barbecue and fire table facing the Bow River, a social lounge for entertaining and connecting, a stocked library and a bike storage and repair workshop to help residents stay active and encouraging bike commuting.
