Bow Valley’s First Seniors Residence Holds Ground Breaking Ceremony

$38 million seniors residence in Canmore provides active living programs and mountain views

CANMORE AB. (May 15, 2013) – A ceremonial toast was held yesterday with Spring Creek president and CEO, Frank Kernick, and Neil Prashad president and CEO of Origin Active Lifestyles Communities at the site of Origin at Spring Creek Seniors Residence to commemorate breaking ground on the construction of the $38 million active living condominium project.

“We are very pleased to be going ahead with this project,” says Frank Kernick, president and CEO of Spring Creek, “As the first seniors residence in the Bow Valley we are meeting the needs of an aging population which doesn’t want to retreat to the City and we appeal to the aging, but active, city dweller wanting to retire to a mountain village that offers fantastic recreational activities.”

The Residence will feature a mix of 56 condo units for more active seniors and 54 units for rent to seniors in need of more supportive living.
