140 suites sold in less than three months for amenity-rich downtown Calgary condo project in Design District
April 23, 2013 – Calgary AB. As construction starts on MARK on Tenth, a 35-storey, $100-million downtown Calgary condo, developer Qualex Landmark announced today it has sold 140, one-and two bedrooms homes totalling over $40 million since opening its sales centre in February of this year.
With a central downtown location and an amenity-rich design that includes luxury rooftop fitness centre and lounge, high-rise common gardens and large-scale artwork from world renowned Canadian artist Douglas Coupland, MARK on Tenth has been a hit with buyers.
“We knew MARK’s location and amenities would be popular, but results have exceeded expectations,” says Parham Mahboubi, vice president, marketing and new developments. “We sold about 30 more suites than we thought we would at this point. Interestingly, many of our home buyers equally ranked great views as they did the outstanding rooftop amenities as reasons for buying.”
Construction has now begun on the 274 home, $100 million downtown Calgary condo as the project was issued its excavation permit by the City of Calgary last week and Qualex-Landmark has instructed its general contractor, ITC to begin excavation and shoring.
“This is Qualex Landmark’s fifth downtown Calgary condo project and we had many repeat buyers from our other projects,” said Mohammed Esfahani, managing director, Qualex-Landmark. “It is exciting that construction has started as MARK home buyers will be taking possession of their new homes on schedule as originally anticipated.”
MARK is a mixed-use high-rise tower conceived by award-winning designers Rafii Architect in partnership with BKDI Architects Inc., Trepp Design Inc. interior design, and Durante-Kreuk Landscape Architects. Designed for those who live, work and play downtown, MARK offers an amenity-rich urban lifestyle. Construction will be completed in fall of 2015.
Starting from the low $200s, MARK has one and two bedroom homes and most come with a sunroom, flex space or den. Homes at MARK feature intelligent luxury design including everything from German engineered and manufactured kitchen cabinets and appliances to the elegant porcelain tiles and individually controlled heating and cooling.
MARK features Calgary’s most luxurious rooftop residents’ lounge and fitness centre offering 6,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor space. Indoors the lounge has a wet bar, media centre, fully-equipped fitness centre, seating for small or large gatherings and a cantilevered enclosed glass mezzanine above it all that offers panoramic views of Calgary. Outdoor the lounge includes an elevated hot tub, a sunbathing patio, lounge area with BBQ and raised fire pit.
Qualex Landmark, the developer of MARK on Tenth has an extensive track record of both residential and commercial real estate success in the highly competitive Vancouver and Calgary markets. It has built its success on its ability to innovate and its dedication to quality and customer satisfaction. Previous projects in Calgary include Stella, Nova, Luna and Calla (completion summer 2013).
