Lodge includes affordable housing under Comprehensive Housing Action Plan
Canmore, AB. The newest luxury development in Canmore’s premier mountain community of Spring Creek, the $40 million Creekstone Mountain Lodge, is now open. Homeowners have begun moving in and taking up residency in this mountain-inspired lodge nestled in Alberta’s breathtaking Rocky Mountains.
The Creekstone Mountain Lodge, which officially opened last week, will be welcoming 54 new home owners and is located in Canmore’s highly sought-after Spring Creek community. Only three homes remain unsold.
With facilities including a private courtyard with outdoor garden hot tub, an exercise room to support active lifestyles, and an owner’s lounge for hosting events, Creekstone Mountain Lodge offers maintenance-free, lock-and-leave living only a short 45-minute drive from Calgary.
“We’re thrilled that Creekstone Mountain Lodge is complete and new home owners will enjoy the very best of Alberta’s natural beauty,” said Frank Kernick, president, Spring Creek. “People choose Canmore because of the wonderful community, the magnificent surrounding mountains and forests, and the close proximity of Calgary.”
According to Ross Jansen, senior sales associate, Spring Creek, “Canmore sales are holding strong and are at the same (high) level as 2017”. This is incredible in the face of Calgary’s 18% sales decline.
The lodge offers unparalleled amenities and features inspired by the spectacular mountain landscape of Canmore. The sumptuous, spa-inspired ensuite bathrooms parallel the natural health and healing effects of the nearby natural hot springs.
The styling of the units draws its inspiration from the nearby mountains and forests, including signature rock fireplaces, wood floors in main living areas, gourmet designer kitchens with quartz or granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, and multi-zone in-slab geothermal heating and air conditioning.
Creekstone Mountain Lodge is also contributing towards the Town of Canmore’s Comprehensive Housing Action Plan. Affordable housing is the single biggest priority for the Town of Canmore, and the new lodge has dedicated 5% of all total residential units to the Perpetual Affordable Housing program operated by the Canmore Community Housing Corporation.
“Rising housing prices here in Canmore have made it difficult to find affordable housing within the Canmore community,” says Blair Epp, a new owner of a Perpetual Affordable home in the Creekstone Mountain Lodge. “It’s fantastic that Spring Creek has taken such direct action to increase the supply of affordable housing in Canmore.”

Opening soon is the new Spring Creek Cellars, which will bring the very best of award-winning BC wines to Canmore and the Spring Creek community. The new boutique wine store is part of the new Creekstone Mountain Lodge.
Currently under construction is the next Spring Creek project, the White Spruce Lodge. This new 49 unit, $31 million development will be located next to the future shopping plaza of Spring Creek Square. This new development is presently 65% sold, reflecting the ongoing strength of the Canmore real estate market. Construction on White Spruce Lodge is scheduled to be complete in Fall 2019.
Lastly, the new Malcolm Hotel and Conference Centre is also nearing completion and will be ready to open its doors to the public this summer. The hotel will offer outstanding views of the mountains, and be the ideal venue for weddings, celebrations, and events in the heart of Alberta’s mountain playground.
