“We’ve worked hard to make shopping safe at New Horizon Mall, but shopping should be fun too. These art projects are fun as shoppers can up their social media game with cool photogenic backgrounds, while learning about and supporting local artists,” says Alexandra Winn, marketing manager, New Horizon Mall.
Calgary-based, community organization PARK, works with local artists to create murals and interactive art experiences in community spaces. The projects allow artists to share their work with larger audiences and support local businesses.
“PARK is excited to work alongside these talented local artists, Tyler Lemermeyer, Rachael Meckling, Wari Willie-Pepple, and Ekaterina Shagaeva to bring a unique and interactive holiday experience to New Horizon Mall,” says Jessie Landry, founder, PARK. “While COVID-19 continues to impact our lives, we hope this project brings vibrancy to the local businesses in the marketplace here.”
New Horizon Mall is following all health and safety protocols mandated by the Alberta Government and Rocky View County with social distancing markers and signage, curbside pick-up locations and hand sanitizer stations throughout the marketplace. This Holiday Shopping season there will be a social distancing Santa and Christmas Craft Sale.
