Park Point, the 34-storey Beltline residential community welcomes new homeowners
CALGARY A.B: Park Point, the highly anticipated luxurious high-rise residential community by Qualex-Landmark™, officially opens its doors today and welcomes up-to 289 new residents. Homeowners will begin the tiered move-in process with the first keys being handed over on the morning of Thursday, August 9th.
Residents are sure to be excited about moving into their new Beltline home with the recent announcement that the neighbourhood has scored the top spot in Avenue Magazine’s “Calgary’s Best Neighbourhoods 2018” report. However, this should come as no surprise as it is the third time the Beltline has ranked among the top two since 2016.
The official opening was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and tour of the building with Deputy Mayor Evan Woolley, Councilor for Ward 8, Qualex-Landmark™ President Mohammed Esfahani, Qualex-Landmark™ Managing Director Cyrus Navabi, IBI Group Director Martin Bruckner and Axiom Builders Senior Vice President Mike McDonough.

“With over a quarter of a century of experience in B.C. and Alberta, I can confidently say that Park Point represents Qualex-Landmark’s finest work, inside and out,” says, Qualex-Landmark™ President Mohammed Esfahani. “We owe a tremendous gratitude to Axiom Builders, IBI Group, Trepp Design, and Durante Kreuk for their dedication and patience over the last three years.”
The iconic Park Point residential tower marks a new architectural masterpiece in Calgary at its prominent location on the corner of 2nd Street and 12 Avenue S.W. which is a hotspot for exciting urban living right on the historic Central Memorial Park and overlooking Memorial Park Library.
Construction began in the fall of 2015 and the development has progressed on schedule, hitting every milestone in its advancement into the Calgary skyline. To achieve this, there were up to 170-200 workers on-site over a certain course of the project and during peak times and an average of 135 people working every day to ensure the project’s success.
Designed by the global architectural firm IBI Group, Park Point features 289, one, two, and three bedroom homes including live/work townhomes. With its black and white façade, as cited from the park and downtown, Park Point has a strong and unique vertical architecture which resembles an exclamation point with the podium at its base as the dot.
As the building rises, the floorplate grows to create a stepped effect with a color enhancing pattern. From street level, an elegant double-height lobby with a natural stone floor and wall tile surrounds the interior and a distinctive and inviting exterior canopy further adds to the prestige nature of the address.
Located atop the tower podium on the third floor, Park Point hosts an expansive list of sophisticated indoor and outdoor amenities within a 9,000 sq. ft. amenities area.
The outdoor amenity space includes:
- a Zen Terrace with seating and water feature
- social air lounge seating with fire-pit, bbq area with a large harvest table
- a sundeck overlooking Central Memorial Park
Indoor amenities include:
- a fully equipped fitness facility with state-of-the-art exercise equipment,
- park facing yoga / Pilates Studio
- steam room
- infrared sauna and his/hers change rooms with showers.
Park Point is nestled amongst some of Calgary’s most popular and trendy venues. This is just one of many reasons why the neighbourhood has ranked the best place to live in 2018 over 185 other suburbs in the surrounding areas. Residents are within walking distance to a variety of trendy restaurants and bars, such as; Native Tongue Taqueria (2-minute walk), Hop in Brew Pub (2-minute walk), Ten Foot Henry (4-minute walk), Vine Arts Wine Spirits (5 minutes) and Vintage Chophouse and Tavern (3-minute walk) just to name a few.
It is then, no surprise that according to Walk Score, the Beltline received a commendable 90 out of a possible 100 points. Park Point residents are sure to appreciate this as they have the ability to live within walking distance to some of the city’s best locations, such as:
- Central Memorial Park – less than 1 min walk
- 10TH Avenue (National and Craft) – 5 min walk
- Core Shopping Destination – 10 min walk
- +15 Skywalk – 10 min walk
- Downtown – 16 min walk
- Mission – 16 min walk
- Saddledome – 18 min walk
- Stampede Corral – 18 min walk
- East Village – 23 min walk
“Our plan for the project has always been to deliver a luxurious residential community that integrates modern living with great amenities and city access to allow residents to create a work, live, play lifestyle,” says Esfahani.
The opening of Park Point is the next step in Qualex-Landmark™’s plans to redefine the downtown Calgary skyline and city lifestyle. Responsible for the construction of more high-rise residential communities in the Beltline than any other developer, Qualex-Landmark™ group projects account for almost half a billion in real estate value with over 1,300 homes in the Beltline in the last 12 years.
With final homes now selling, an opportunity to join this unique residential community with an unbeatable park side view and cityscape is still available.

Editor’s note:
Here are a few quirky facts that are worth noting in the completion of Park Point.
- Qualex-Landmark planted a total of 2,302 plants and 48 trees in the Zen Garden and outdoor patio area.
- Qualex-Landmark poured 1,200CM of concrete into the transfer slab on Level 3 where the building layout changes. A typical swimming pool is 375CM.
- Qualex-Landmark installed a water softening system which filters out the hard minerals in the water. This will result in allowing homeowners to use less soap for the same cleaning effort.
- Qualex-Landmark lifted a 23,000lb chiller unit to level 36 which was the biggest lift in the city in 2016.
