Spring Creek development features homes in a wide range of sizes and price points

Rachel and Trevor Lee have definite plans for the condo they recently purchased in the successful Spring Creek development a stone’s throw from downtown Canmore.

In October, the Lees purchased their 1,140-square-foot suite in Tamarack at Spring Creek, the fourth residential building to come to the market in Frank Kernick’s master-planned community in the past three years.

Kernick, a Canmore native with deep roots in the mountain town and president of Spring Creek, says Tamarack will put the overall development at about the halfway point.

The two-bedroom suite bought by the Lees will be a weekend and holiday escape, for sure, but the Calgary couple also plans to use it as an income property.

“We purchased it to diversify our investment portfolio, and have the chance to buy something within walking distance of Canmore town centre,” Rachel Lee says. “We also wanted a place that could be rented regularly, and also be used as a quick and close-to-Calgary getaway for our family.”

The largest building in development to date, Tamarack will have 80 condominium suites spread across four floors and will have a buildout value of more than $50 million.
