Spring Creek continues to grow as Creekstone Mountain Lodge inches closer to completion
Canmore AB Spring Creek, one of Canmore’s premier neighbourhoods has experienced immense success in the small mountain town and its Villas have proved to be some of its most popular homes. The latest release of Villas doesn’t officially launch until summer but due to strong demand five of the six homes have already been sold and the next set of six are in the early stages of planning.
According to statistics collected from Canmore’s MLS listings by Spring Creek, 2016 was a record year with 513 sales transactions. This is the highest sales have been in five years as transactions rose 28 per cent with 145 more sales than 2015. Though 2017 sales are tracking almost identical year to date as 2016, it is expected that sales likely would have been higher had it not been for the drastic decline in inventory. Decreasing just over 50 per cent, condos sales show the most significant drop in inventory with only 35 condos available May 1, 2017 when compared to the 75 available, May 1, 2016.
With strong market sales and low inventory levels it is no surprise demand for Spring Creek’s Villas is so high. The remaining Villas are not expected to last long following the official launch this summer. Another option currently available for purchase and closer to being move in ready is Creekstone Mountain Lodge, Spring Creek’s fourth and most luxurious condominium building. The building is 70 per cent sold out with remaining homes expected to go quickly the closer construction gets to completing.
After beginning construction on the four-storey, 56 unit condo building in September 2016 the framing is complete and the building will be entirely finished and move in ready early 2018. Located at the heart of Canmore, Creekstone Mountain Lodge features southwest exposure and unobstructed views of Mount Lawrence Grassi, Ha Ling Peak and the rugged Rundle Range.
“Canmore is really thriving right now; people want to live here,” says Frank Kernick, President of Spring Creek, “and why wouldn’t they? It’s a beautiful town with unbeatable views and an abundance of recreational opportunities less than an hour from Calgary.”
Creekstone Mountain Lodge only has one-bedroom and two-bedroom suites left ranging in price between $469,000 and $829,000, while all three-bedroom suites have sold out. There are still many great suites available with beautiful views but like the Villas, they aren’t expected to last long. Pricing for the Villas start at $1.379 million.
Creekstone Mountain Lodge will feature an owner’s lounge, a private courtyard with an outdoor garden and hot tub, exercise room and maintenance-free, lock-and-leave living. Each home will come with spa-inspired ensuite bathrooms, contemporary mountain styling with signature rock fireplaces, gourmet designer kitchens with quartz or granite countertops and quality stainless steel appliances, wood floors in main living areas and geothermal heating and air conditioning.
Spring Creek uses geothermal heating and cooling in all of its buildings. With the addition of Creekstone Mountain Lodge and the Malcolm Hotel, which will be complete in early 2018, 600 tons of emissions will be eliminated community wide annually according to John Managh, Hell Bent Geothermal, the company in charge of the geothermal installation at Spring Creek. The Villas will also use geothermal bringing that number up even higher. Spring Creek residents will save approximately $4,000 in carbon taxation in 2017.
